Private owned, VAT paid & incredible priced top yacht!

One of the most noteworthy aspects of this 2017 Codecasa 24 yacht has to be that it was constructed new from framework up towards the extensive list of options.  Fully controlled by Rolls Royce and powered with the latest version of MTU’s 10 cylinder engine. All this power is connected to double Kamewa waterjets which isolates the hull to significantly reduce onboard vibration and its associated noise while still maintaining RINA-certified performance.  It also provides an added measure of safety by creating a reduced draft for shallow waters or just that spot you want to go where a similar yacht can’t go. Designed under strict Naval Architecture, she features open-plan social zones and was designed for “a yachting family with a heart for adventure.”  

She has a fully aluminium hull and a superstructure of even lighter alloy that saves weight while maintaining strength.  Her displacement is only 63 metric tons and her strength is supplanted by a 7.500 litres integral fuel tank.  

Mission

The 24 metre Codecasa is first and foremost a family yacht… an owner/operator’s yacht.  So while she’s not intended for chartering, she certainly could be.  She has accommodations for a crew of four and she totals for ten including guests.  She’s intended to take those families to far-reaching destinations and explore new areas.

Go sideways!

With the Rolls Royce joystick you can maneuver this large yacht as if it was a toy in the bathtub. Strong winds fully from aside wont affect you at all, it is here where Rolls Royce made magic happen again. Once confident with the typical waterjet controls it can be thrilling to go sideways against the winds with your own hands doing the job.

Engines/Engine Room

The engine room has a double access.  It’s an extremely well laid out space, with 2 metre overhead clearance. The yard created a finger licking piece of craftsmanship and literally everything you need and don’t need are packed inside.

There’s a series of air conditioning systems and they're all well labeled for the individual spaces that they service.   Of course, the center of the engine room houses the twin 1600 hp engines. There are dual 28 kW generators with an auto-parallel system that automatically activates the second generator when the load increases. A very nice feature worth mentioning is the Harsonic biofilm removal that keeps the hull clean. It is a permanent active system that prevents the hull from algae growth. Of course a Seakeeper Gyro stabilizer is present as well as all other equipment like water makers etc.

 

Salon

The interior consists of an open floor plan with no bulkheads to divide the open space that is enhanced by the good 2 metre plus overhead.  Even the deck is on a single level.  Huge windows are surrounding the entire deck.

 

Furniture is all freestanding and starts with a 2-3-2 sofas to the starboard hand side.  This wraps around a large compass rose coffee table. A cabinet to starboard houses the entertainment center components, including a large TV.  Port at hand you have a true bar with immense glass cabinet. Just in front you find two chairs and a stable glass table , perfectly designed for  the morning paper.

 

I’m seeing a lot of quality materials that are characteristic of the Codecasa shipyard in this salon.  Countertops fabricated from natural stone, doors to perfection and scalloped joinery to the entertainment center doors.

Dining

Forward of the salon, open or behind sliding doors where carpet ends the dining fits perfectly to the interior. The oval glass table on super solid and fully visible pedestals is surrounded by a three person sofa, levelled at the same height as the other five chairs. Direct light and seaview is ensured during nice family dining moments.

Galley

Opposite of the dining, the galley is accessed.  All the counters are stainless steel and the appliances are top quality and won’t look silly in most professional restaurant kitchens. The galley is accessed directly from the dining, but also via the lower helm position. From here there’s access towards deck for the event you want crew to become invisible.

Lower Helm

As we look at the lower helm, first we need to understand that this yacht is powered by the MTU, 1600 hp each, and from there Rolls Royce covers everything from top to bottom.  That means they also interface with the large Furuno displays here at the helm.  A compass is above the two displays and in line with the wheel.  The lower panel houses the C-Zone display controlling all the vessel's switching and tank monitoring.  There’s a proportional bow thruster and the debate rages on about whether a bow thruster is needed when we have a sophisticated system in the identity of a Rolls Royce joystick.  There are two VHF radios at the helm and two generator controls.  The fly-by-wire wheel is mounted to a fixed base. 

 

The helm seat is leather and is fully adjustable for hi/lo, fore and aft and recline.  There is a flip footrest.  The RR joystick is on the dashboard and directly to port is a watertight door giving quick access to the side deck. 

Side Decks

As we make our way forward, it’s worth noting that midship cleats are mounted to the center of the hawseholes, so lines can be secured from the dock. 

 

Fully forward is the ground tackle.  It consists of a heavy duty windlass handling an all-chain rode.  Right alongside is a freshwater washdown.  The rode leads through a chain stopper, connects to a swivel and ultimately to a heavy claw anchor mounted to a through-the-stem anchor roller.  Just behind is a hatch used for storage. Under the storage is rode access.  To both sides are cleats mounted into the hawseholes.  Foot controls are there where needed.

 

 

Fly Bridge Helm

The flybridge helm is similarly laid out to the lower helm with twin displays to either side of the compass that is flush-mounted into the dash.  There’s a stereo, windlass control alongside a spotlight control, the thruster and digital engine controls.

 

Master

The master stateroom is fully aft and full beam.  It has the berth mounted to the centerline to minimize movement while underway.  This arrangement provides more room to move about.  There are hull side windows to both sides so the views are stunning.  The owners stateroom offers further details like a full walk in closet, large bathroom with toilet, bidet and all storage you could wish for.

Further forward you find a VIP and guest cabins with Pullman berths, all have an ensuite of course.

Price 

The price of this Codecasa 24 is € 1.190.000,- VAT paid, which in the scheme of things is incredibly low! 

Observations

Overall, the Codecasa hits the buttons for volume and ease of use unlike other yachts in class thanks to her fantastic Rolls Royce joystick.  She’s remarkably comfortable to handle and seems to respond to inputs almost intuitively, especially at low speeds.  For an owner/operator, it’s an ideal combination.  For a family cruiser, it’s a dreamboat.
